Customer Appreciation Day

Sierra Media brought the love this Valentine’s Day with a sweet delivery to some favorite clients of ours, BuzzBee and Fluke. The bulk of our work as a creative marketing firm is business to business, and maintaining good client relationships goes beyond just providing great videos on demand. For us, Valentine’s Day was a perfect opportunity to show a little customer appreciation, showcase our creativity, and generate some good-will for the future.  And (because creative or not, we’re still a bunch of tech geeks), it was as good a way as any to have some fun with our GoPro camera. Our camera guys secured the GoPro to our cart, and our writer disguised it in a big bouquet of paper flowers—one of her lesser known (or appreciated) skills. We Photoshopped a couple of custom V-day cards, and then took our stealthy, hidden-camera cart downtown to pick up four dozen cupcakes from Cupcake Royale in Seattle. Dressing up our new intern in a tux and making him do the deliveries was just *ahem* icing on the cake.  Marketing these days demands more creativity than ever—you have to do something unexpected to make an impression.

Please, if you didn’t get cupcakes, don’t take it personally—we still like you, we just want to be friends.

IBM Smart Analytics System 5710 In studio shoot

IBM photos (click here)

Friday found us shooting our first official video in the new studio! For this project, we partnered with the marketing minds over at BuzzBee Company to create a video about the IBM Smart Analytics 5710, powered by Intel Xeon Processors. The idea was to highlight the high level benefits of the system in a fast, upbeat way that would be informative, without getting boring. So we hired some local talent to play the parts of CEO and sales director, and then we mocked up a couple of “sets” in our new studio – a little faux coffee shop, and a cubicle that will likely see some future use for this type of corporate work. We also got to do a little on-location shooting at the Everett Station, where we filmed our “sales director” starting her work day as her train rolls in. Everything went smooth as butter, and the footage looks great.  It’s in post right now getting prettied up with all the informative titles and flashy graphics, but we’ll have it finished up soon. In the meantime, check out these shots of Sierra-Media in action.
