A Project With Heart (Beat)

Among the many (oh SO many!) projects we have in the works right now is a collaboration we're particularly proud of. Heartbeat for Wounded Warriors is a non-profit dedicated to supporting wounded veterans here at home. Sierra-Media associate Dustin McMullen has been directing the production of a video designed to bring attention to this worthwhile cause and, hopefully, to inspire involvement and support for Heartbeat. Dustin's just wrapping up the first segment, focusing on the Scuba Warriors program for physical and psychological rehabilitation. We'll be working into the new year to get the entire video ready for a South Everett/Mukilteo Rotary Club sponsored fundraising auction at the Tulalip Resort and Casino.  A well-produced video is a powerful marketing tool, a fact already appreciated by our corporate clients. It's a pleasure to put this tool to work for a worthwhile cause, and we look forward to seeing a strong response. Please take some time to check out the Heartbeat program to learn about the many ways you, too, can help our Wounded Warriors.

Subtitling is Here!

Sierra Media is excited to now offer subtitling (in pretty much every written language there is) for any produced video. This should prove to be a great value-add for our internationally minded clients. We've done our share of audio translations here on an as-needed basis. While translations are great for making material accessible across the globe, the whole process can eat up a lot of time and money. Sierra-Media has streamlined the subtitling process so that we could offer a faster, cheaper, better translation service.

We started off by investing in some pretty awesome subtitling software. It definitely sped up the whole process, but the final product wasn't quite up to our standards. We like “faster and cheaper”, but we won't sacrifice “better,” so we went the next step and incorporated the software's XML file into our overall state-of-the-art editing process. From there, we dial it in until we get it polished and professional enough to make even our pickiest critics (ourselves) happy. So if you're looking to send a Sierra-Media video out to some friends in Brazil or China or anywhere else, contact us and we'll make sure they know what you're saying when they watch it.
